Stalking Horse Press is proud to be publishing the enigmatic crime novella Snap Shot by Vincent James (Acacia: A Novel of Wonders, etc.). This great book publishes on March 10, 2027, but preorders are available now and will ship on March 1. After a fateful evening encounter on the train, the lives of three witnesses—Bianca, Eisenhoward, and John-Paul—become inextricably linked. As letters concerning a mysterious photograph arrive and go missing, obsession, vengeance, guilt, and guise suture the three strangers even tighter together. Skillfully rendered from these different perspectives, the narrative absorbs a cast of supernatural sympathizers, glamorous estheticians, faceless errandboys, tyrant landlords, and ritualistic hitmen as Bianca, Eisenhoward, and John-Paul undertake their respective commissions and unwittingly impact each other’s lives. Snap Shot is a crime story like no other.
Snap Shot is the first title under our new imprint PonyXS, created to publish novella-length literature. The books are pocket-sized at 4.25 x 7 inches, and provide intense bursts of strangeness, beauty, and very fine writing. The colophon was designed by Emmy-winning artist Malcolm Mc Neill whose groundbreaking graphic novel Tetra is also published by Stalking Horse Press.
